Just a Sheepdog To whom it may concern, Hello. My name is Charles Prefontaine. I am writing this letter as a testimony in support of Roger Poisson and the Mission of the Shroud. Why I have begun with this title is something that the Lord reminded me of that Roger had shared with others and myself quite a few years ago. That is that we must become like sheep dogs that have joy in doing our Creators’ work in gathering by Loving those who are hurting, those who have been abused and those that are lost. Like a little sheep dog we run and gather the sheep into the fold of the Shepard who gives His own life for His sheep. How do we do this? Not by preaching, recite Bible verses, nor by being more abusive… but simply by Loving… that’s it. No more. Simple Why, I say this, is because that is what I have seen at The Mission of the Shroud. That is not to say that we are perfect people (the last time I looked I still had a few defects of character), but now I know there is true love in the world because I have been shown it. First by the One who we nailed to the cross and from time to time glimpses of those who loved like that, and now to Roger who is an example by teaching us to love like that. I have known Roger since the spring of 1992. I had a First Nation’s friend who told me and invited me to hear Roger share. The first meetings were held in a kitchen of a little rented house at 332 Morley Ave. in Winnipeg, the previous home of Karen Munroe. The meetings were non-religious, informational in nature, things like marriage, family, abuse issues, and the teaching to show us how we affect one another by our negativity and behaviors. There were also some evenings where we had slide shows of the many photos that Roger had been guided to take of the Shroud of Turin and of other natural objects. Not religiously speaking, but Jesus and Mother Mary, and others were appearing in these photos. Quite interesting, when all Roger was saying is that God is always with us (Jesus said this too) but we simply do not pay attention. This is because our senses have been dulled by fear, abuse, unbelief, boredom in life and basically the “rat race” going on in the world. Many are trying to be the best with no regard for the well being of our fellow man or fellow woman and this… hurts us all. Roger simply does not want us to hurt. Please take the time to look and see that this Mission is about You. Not about Roger, not about money, not about what you have done wrong in your life, but how life can be beautiful and fulfilling and just plain fun. Try it out. We don’t want anyone to be miserable when they don’t have to be. God Bless. May the Creator of all life be the source of a new one in you! |
