Here is a little test:
About a week ago, I had to go to court to help the man who called for help and we have his permission to tell his story.
The photo that you see of this man has already affected you. When you are affected negatively, you are infected and you become a virus.
When approaching the crown in this matter, with a smile, the Crown Attorney looked at me and said: “Have you ever seen worse than this man? Good Luck.” Then when approached by the Defense Council, I am told: “If anything could be done with this man, I’ll believe in God. Good luck to you. It is our worst case.”
A few days after, a call came from our local police who informed me that he had just spent a week in Los Angeles, because in his heart, he wants to start a program to help these people. What are these people? Glue sniffers, chemical abusers, physical abusers, violence - not to mention other things that could be in your mind as you read. Imagine as usual, having to go to the U.S. to find Canadian Solutions.
I was told that in Los Angeles, they have resulted into purchasing old run-down hotels, make them acceptable in living conditions and put all these people in there, and turn the place over to Missions, like us. We were told that they call them non-profit hotels, where there could be a counselor (of course, removing the bars), because it would aggravate the situation. Then the officer tells me “I want to meet with him. I want to tell him what my job is, to make sure that the people are safe out there and that my job is to arrest them and to seek protection for the people out there.” Flagrant racism. Furthermore, the man has medical condition, not allowed to board any transit bus, winter and summer. And if you know of Winnipeg, they call it ‘Winterpeg’. If the man has two appointments 5 miles apart, it’s walk, my boy. Is this civilization? But what has lead a man to behave in this manner? Where we invest in MRI and CT scans to find out what are the problems for these people - if any, and what kind of budgets they have for these kinds of machines.
Now a greater shock that you all know of – as in the U.S. in the past and even now, if a Black American moved into a prestigious white area, that would devaluate the value of property and people would start moving out. Here in Winnipeg’s North end specifically, property value has dropped as low as 80% because there are (as you would call them) ‘Indians’ living there; and it is right across Canada.
This is flagrant racism.
How could unity be possible with this attitude? Let yourself be honest, the reader. When you see these people, down the main drags of the cities you cannot tell me that you don’t have a negative attitude and a feeling of disgust, especially if they approach you to panhandle for food. Have you ever taken the time to sit and talk with one of them? We have the honour to have this man living with us to teach us who they are as a people. I no longer believe Canadian history because it has yet to be made. I’ve always had a deep love for the First Nation people since I was a child and there’s no one in this world that could change that in me, especially after having had time to hear him. He’s my son. Let’s quote you of his own writing with his permission, and just think for a moment, -40 below zero in Winnipeg, having to go for a medical appointment and be barred from Winnipeg Transit, and that from time to time Police Officers would climb out of their cars (of course with the flashers on), as if to appear that they’re really doing their jobs, and humiliate these people that are harmless by searching them, ridiculing them and yes, spitting on them. Even myself as a white man, running this Mission, every time have to speak to a police officer or a court official, the very first thing they always ask “What is your birth date?” as if you are being investigated. I am sick and tired of this and I want Winnipeg Police and all police forces, including RCMP that have called these people ‘bastards’ to my face, change your attitude or we will challenge you on racism, that includes the Crown prosecutor, especially the defense council and involved Police Officers. To the Head of the Nation:
You have more time to speak of monies and check out the polls for votes. I think it’s time you wake up and you start realizing that they are a people of God. If you want to challenge this, when Jesus appears in the sky, holding this very man in his arms, and certainly not one of us, I guess he was right when he said: “The last will be first.”
To the Government of Canada or the Government to be:
I am insulted at the little attention that you pay to the answers that we give you to change this country to become truly a United nation. So far, not one of you has showed any feelings towards the interest of these people, by believing that you have all it takes from your lips to convince this nation, but as Riel, I vouch to stand it up until you give because now, everything is a lie, corruption and who has been charged with this $250 million dollars, now? You must think that we are stupid. We have answers for the problems, without hurting anyone, not even you, because I know we’ll never see that money, but it could have well been used for these reservations that you speak of money, when all the worth of the land was taken away from them. Even Phil Fontaine, wake up and stop turning white because you have a position of power, because all the ‘greats’ of the past have been defeated by themselves and these people will see honesty.
The readers: if you are not shaken to the heart to what you see and read, then I wonder if you have a heart. Here is an excerpt of this man’s writing:

April 25, 2004
Hello. How is everyone? I hope that you are in good health. Please always remember that God loves each one of us. He will be number one in my life. Before you pray, he already knows your wants and needs. Even before you ask him. Be nice to people and people will be nice to you. If you want respect, you have to earn it. There is only one God and a very jealous God, so don’t pray to false idols. If you are lonely, lost, scared, and you have no one to turn to, then turn and pray to God. He’s always with us and he will answer your every prayers. God will guide you and protect you and he will give you wisdom so that you will walk in peace.

This is but one of his pieces of writing. When he prays for the judges, the crown prosecutor, defense lawyers, the very people that mocked him in my face, I hope you read this.
We will show you, also attached, a few photos of how happy he is with us and I will let no one ever use the word ‘bastard’, or even a neglecting thought towards anyone. I will pursue you until you get to see what you look like to God in your actions.
I call upon you, Canadians, to look at these photos with his family, the greatest supporters of Perry. Perry, I love you man! You’re the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen you cry, I’ve seen your pain. Anyone that will make their jobs first before their heart, you are what you call this man, the worst case of all. I believe that as I love Perry, I want to love you too, but I cannot let you hurt anyone and believe that you are good. I’ll show you the good in you.
For any comments such as: “We pay taxes to support these people.” I will let you dare to ask in an e-mail any questions you want about treaties and taxes. I’d be more then happy to answer you, because I love you too. If we can’t begin there, let’s forget about a nation united, but over my dead body will I stop, even to a firing squad because I love you that much, you the reader. We ask that this racism, this devaluation of property because for the origin of a person, that nation should be tried before the world courts, but likely we’d find the same attitude, because white appears black to me. The black man we may speak of is ourselves, not the ones that you ignore because you’re blind.

To Mr. Paul Martin:
We send you these facts because nothing is important enough to move your heart as you said asking what the Canadian wants for the country. Do I have to throw myself in front of your limousine for you to stop and to look at the gift that God is sending you for all Canadians, beginning by yourself? Loosen up your tie, as you were going to make a commercial about a hard working man, when in public, you keep pushing it up. Why don’t we get down to the nitty gritty and what we have is free? It will set the whole nation free.

A little woman in Reg Alcock’s office by the name of Susana Scott, she calls herself the little ‘toilet bowl scrubber’ and she knows me well. She’s the only one who’s taken the time to listen and yet she’s too small to be listened to. The smaller they are, the more valuable they are. I ask you for the second time, that we meet as brothers for all the people of Canada. If the proposal of God does not turn this nation around at once, to reduce every budget and increase the efficiency of everyone, you could hang me publicly, because what he sends me with, is true. The photo attached is the credentials that he sends me with. May he bless you in your silence and I pray for you and your party so that honesty will be the policy and that truth will give majority.
God bless you all and remember what they have called the worst man, look at yourself. You have lots to learn from him, to find out who they are, to fall in love with them.
