My children, my family, don’t be angry.  Things will change.  I understand your frustration, your anger, but the love I have for you will make you forget these frustrations by the re-structuring of this nation, the family, where perhaps you’ve never known a father or one that was angry, violent like you because he didn’t have a father either.

I want to attach to this letter, my children, a letter from a young man in Headlingly Correctional Institution, where we will white-out the name to be respectful but that after he read in the Winnipeg Free Pres, where it cost us $4,500 for him to see that I care, you will find that this is not a dream.  This is a reality.  I care about you.  I invite you to call me to be a part of my family because I love you, sons and daughters and I want, with you, to free your people in poverty and misery and broken-down families and drug dealing, chemical abuse.  I want you out of there, in a dream that we will build together.  Only you, my kids, could guarantee the safety of this city and I don’t call upon you for that, because this city needs to wake up to the plight of the hurting like you that reads this today.

I invite you to share your feelings and emotions and if you’re that angry, I’ll provide a punching bag, perhaps me, if it will make you feel that you’ve let out your steam against a people that doesn’t seem to care.

And to your leadership, if you are first nation people, you could be anything.  You’re still my kid.  I want to help you build a future, perhaps for little boys and girls that would not have to live through what you live through today, because together we will change this world for them.  I love you that much my kids, and you could count on me.  I am not bound by no laws to divulge anything that you tell me because no licenses are needed to care, to love, like it seems to be necessary to have one not to care, not to love.

I don’t care what you did, what you could do is more important to me.  I want you to know the love of a father that reaches out to you.  I don’t want to see you dead o with a bullet, suicide, hunger, depressed, angry, I want to take all this away from you by opening my arms to loving you because I truly care.  Try me.  Only then you’ll know.  In the meantime, I truly love you.
