The bible says that Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  Isn’t that strange, that fear is wisdom?

Fear of the Lord is fearing doing wrong to others.  There such, we’ll give you a very simple example that will be short but clear:

If you’re in a car accident in the middle of nowhere, you are okay but the person beside you is bleeding internally and externally.  You know very well that you’re not a doctor nor a paramedic.  So now, comes through your mind, “What if I do something and I kill that person, end up being charged with murder?  And then if I don’t do anything, I may be charged with criminal negligence that I could have done something.”  So now, picture yourself at the accident and what do you do?

By the way, there’s about ten minutes left of life in that person and nobody around.  What do you do?

Fear of the Lord is like this, at all times.  We could make people worse and we could make them better.  And it is always a matter of life and death, when you love and you care.  To make the point, you seek wisdom, not just because you are afraid because then wisdom will not come.  But because you want to save a life.  So as your love for the person grows, suddenly wisdom comes.  Ideas come clearly to your head – that is the Holy Spirit suddenly telling you: “Tie the arm with a ripped cloth so that the blood will slow down.  And do this and do that.”  That is the work of the Holy Spirit.

We’ll give you an easier one:  you lost something, so you definitely don’t know where it is.  But in your eagerness to find it, it is a form of faith.  So suddenly, you stumble on it but you never knew where it was.  How did you find it?  You were helped because a minute before you never believed you could find it and now you have it.

So fear of the Lord is always wanting to do the Will of God for everyone, fearing to damaging somebody’s life by criminal negligence.  Am I my brother’s keeper?  Yes.

So keep it well because this is how important you are that God has trusted you with his own affairs.  So you too like Jesus could say “I’m looking after my father’s business.”  And do so.  Then you and the Lord are one and the same because he guided you.
