Strange title but this is the night of the debate. A debate is an occasion to justify yourself or to make amends to those who question the reality of your person. Isn’t a debate like scripture? Please, not religiously, let’s say for fun: “I will make of you fishers of men”. Isn’t the debate tonight about becoming a fisher of man, gathering votes? But as you see in the animation on the front of the website, that those who are in the net are not to be eaten because we are not dogs who eat dogs. Instead, I must admit that yes, the net has be dragged in and it must be a rough ride for the rich man, poor man. The reason of the title as to “the bait”, justice, honesty and equality is the structure of the fisherman, the one who said: “I come to show the way.” Remember, when he commanded Peter to throw the net on the other side of the boat, and Peter replied: “We’ve been fishing all night, all day. We couldn’t get anyone to vote for us, I mean, we couldn’t catch fish.” I wonder who were the suckers - the fishermen or the fish? But by realizing that the odds don’t work anymore, that the suckers are smarter than the fishermen, so Peter gave up and did as he was asked. And as we know the rest of the story, the boat almost sank though they had many voters in there. They brought it to shore and never such a majority vote came on shore to vote. Could you imagine the fish jumping in the net because of feeling the love of the fisherman, his honesty? That’s what you call being this honest. And likewise, tonight on the television debate, I didn’t look at it because I’m a fisher of men, not a sucker. By the way, my name is Poisson, which means “fish”. I took time yesterday to look in my tackle box and try to figure out which lure is the best to catch the most fish. Then I asked myself: “Why are there so many lures to catch fish?” And it seems like not one is greater than the other. But surprisingly for fisherman, any professional fisherman, perhaps like professional politicians, will tell you that the best bait ever invented to catch fish is called the “Red Devil”. But still, they tried other ways and the Red Devil is the one that could only catch suckers. But I tell you that the fisherman who commanded the fish to jump into the net, because he gave them to see a bait that had no hooks in it. Not a debate, full of barbs. So today, our constitution tells us that it guarantees the sovereignty of God. If anyone challenges this, you will see soon that the suckers aren’t the fish but those with lures pretending to feed the nation with food full of bait that the suckers must pay for. Who should you vote for? We’ll let you know tomorrow. But let these words sink in so that you could stay afloat, because wisdom has no bait: be a good sport and learn from your mistakes so you won’t have to catch anymore because they will come to you. They will recognize you as the gatherer of souls, not suckers. Thank you for reading. I like fishing.
