The Intelligent Elephant

May 21 , 2009

Did you know than an elephant is very intelligent and that it never forgets anything?

Let’s say that someone hurt an elephant.  In one hundred years it would still remember it had been hurt.
An experiment was done on the elephant.  First, a chain was put around one of its legs.  It learned that it could only go so far and then had to stop.  Then a rope was put around the leg, replacing the chain.  Still, the elephant didn’t go further than before.  Then a string was used instead of the rope.  Still, the elephant remembered the chain and didn’t move any further.  Later on, a thread was put around its leg, with the same result.  The elephant felt it wasn’t supposed to move any more than what it had learned. Finally, nothing remained around the leg, but in the elephant’s mind, it thought it was still chained.

Is the elephant stupid?  It is so intelligent, it forgets nothing.  But, is it stupid?  If you want to change the elephant’s mind, do you have any ideas how to do it?   I would teach it to walk with me.  It would be cautious at first but I would teach it to have freedom.  “Come, let’s walk together”, I would tell it.  Soon, the elephant would be overjoyed to move again.

Last night, the Spirit taught me that the things that happened in the past are what holds us back.  If you say that you love your kids, why do you fight in your family or even quit being with them?  Is it that you are more important than your kids?  To me, the children are beautiful.  I would give my name to all the children.  I love them all.

Do you recognize how sacred it is to learn to trust and not be nervous?  Remember what would happen with the elephant.  I would take the elephant and it would no longer be unhappy or trapped.

Today, there are many sacred things to learn – not only through religious writings.  Without love, you waste your time.  Things are boring and you will never be happy.  What is the problem with the Mass?   Why is it so boring?  Even if the priest gives up his life for us, do we still find the Mass boring?  Recognize this:  two thousand years ago, after Jesus died and rose, there was no Mass at all.  Why did things change so that people would learn of its sacredness?  Is it boring and at the same time, very important?  Do people only go to Mass to protect themselves for after death?  And another question ... why do the priests talk so much?  The more they talk, the more boring it is.  Don’t be angry.  We are here to learn.  After Jesus died, He rose and returned.  He said that the end would come when many would no longer believe, when there would be fighting and no respect.  But one day, He said, “They will learn I Am there to change their lives.”
Don’t forget when they were about to kill Him, he said, “Don’t cry for Me ... I feel sorry for you.”

Today, recognize it is sacred to learn and feel only true love in your heart the whole day, and respect each other.  But first, remember that one day I too will be dead.  I am surviving for you to realize that I am there for you.  You have no idea how close I am to you.  You are so blind.  It may look terrible in the world right now but it is really the best for the world.  Those who are fighting forget to sin and are pleading with God to help them.

Today, don’t be blind.  The Spirit is so powerful.  You are forgetting to learn because you are fighting ... but at least you are not sinning in the flesh.  Remember that the Mass will be there for you to change your life.  Priests – you must change your life, not only share the Book with people.  Remember, Jesus closed the Book.  Recognize His love – to share with everyone.

God bless you,

Roger
