Why Go To Ottawa?
January 29, 2009
I’m tired of all the sufferings in this divided world we live in…the rich – the poor, those who have - those who don’t have. The Spirit has taught us that when there are two sides - this causes wars. The poor want some of what the rich have and the rich (afraid to lose what they have) hang on to what they have for dear life. This is a world-wide problem. How happy I would be if we could all be one big, happy family…sharing and loving together and recognizing in everything the love God has for all His people.
It could be discouraging when you think, ‘Oh my God! How can one person change the whole world?’ But we have been shown by the Spirit that one person who loves, who gives up their life for others is enough. They can make a difference. When we have this kind of love for people they will feel it. If we are honest in our love, they can then decide to do the same. Change begins one heart at a time. How often does the Spirit have to remind us, Just be like Me! ‘I get it,’ I finally say. ‘Change will come one heart at a time.’
Love is the Miracle. And I believe in miracles. That’s why I come here every day with the profound belief that when the question is asked, Can and will the world change? I know in my heart the answer is ‘Yes’! I feel like screaming this out loud sometimes but it remains a Hallelujah in my heart! (I don’t want to scare the neighbours.)
As you must know by now, I’m comfort-seeking. The Mission, the people here are heaven to me – so why would I want to leave? I think of Ottawa as ‘hell’ which would be no holiday. This is why in my heart I always hoped I wouldn’t have to go. But I guess the world can’t change if your heart is locked up in a vault. I work for God so I will do what the Spirit tells me. I’m not smart and He knows it. I have no plans to say or do anything if I go. I believe in Love. I believe in everything the Spirit has taught us: that it is already accomplished and that now we just have to go through the steps. I don’t know what they are…
I really do listen to the Spirit every day. But whether I hear Him or do as I am told, He will have to judge. If there’s one thing I know for sure, He guides only by love and if I listen (if I do) I will be acting by love. He’s the Leader. I don’t know anything myself. I don’t even know myself as He does. But He has given me Faith that all things can be accomplished by love and respect for all people.
Love, respect - there is room for these in government, in society, in the family, in every human heart. No one person is more entitled than the other to peace, to eat every day or to be heard. We, along with all the other parties of Canada have a right to be heard and we hope Ottawa hears the message of peace, love, equality and respect that the Spirit brings through Laurel and myself. Let’s all work (love) together!
God bless you! The Spirit guided me to write these things from the heart.
Respectfully,
Ann Marie Nemis
