A few years back we were on our way to Sandy Bay reservation and the Spirit said to Roger, “Look My boy at all this space to build houses for the homeless.” He was pointing out all the farmers’ fields we were passing by. Roger said, “But Lord those are farmers’ fields and if we don’t have the fields to grow our food then how would we eat?” The Lord responded, “My boy, all you need is two fish, five loaves of bread and enough love and faith to go and feed the world.”
At this point the Lord caught all of us who were in the van because Roger was shown by the Spirit that if we really believed we could feed the world with just 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread then He would tell us “then get 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread and start feeding the world” literally. He reveals to our hearts how much or how little faith we have. But never to make you feel bad but to move us into action by the love we have for those who suffer.
When Jesus was living (and still is today) He was good friends with Lazarus, Mary and Martha. But only after Lazarus had died Jesus went to go and see him. Could you imagine being good friends with someone and you know they are sick and you don’t go and visit him? But even when He went to their area He didn’t go to the tomb right away. Both of Lazarus’ sisters went to see Jesus before He went Himself to the tomb. Only after He saw Mary did He go. As soon as she heard that Jesus was there she ran to Him and fell at His feet crying and asking why He didn’t come sooner. Jesus was moved by the love and faith of Mary and Martha that it brought Him to tears. Love resurrected Lazarus, the Love of his sisters, Jesus and ultimately God. Love is what brings life, truth is what brings value and faith is what brings miracles.
Jesus was followed by thousands of people. They were drawn by the love He had for them. Imagine there are over 5000 people standing around you and you know that all of them have left their homes, their families, their food, their jobs and just to be loved by you. How would you feed them? How would you shelter them?
When Roger first started this mission he never knew where the next funding would come from to help pay for the rent, the hydro, the heat, his food or lodging. He just kept listening to the Spirit and what to do next. And now going on 23 years the mission is still here. Even today we never know where the next funding will coming from but yet this door still remains open for everyone.
Now imagine Roger having to live this way by himself but now young men and young women want to follow him and live at the mission doing what he does. How will he feed them, lodge them, clothe them? But even in all of this God’s love through him for us always gave us what we needed to continue the work of the Spirit until all are reached. Even today.
This love that the Spirit has for us is the same love the Spirit had for those thousands of people around Jesus. But it took a little boy, the young, to come forward and offer maybe what little or all he had left to help feed the thousands present. Just think about this; if God could have multiplied the bread and fish, couldn’t He have just made it appear out of nowhere too as He did with all of Creation? So why didn’t He do that instead? It was to give those who were present (and us now) an opportunity to learn what love for others can do. The love and faith and honesty in the little one moved Jesus to multiply it to feed the thousands.
Today there is a famine in the world. When we watch the news it is heartbreaking to see the suffering. There were hundreds, maybe thousands, lining up for food and pushing and trampling on one another for their portion. If there is a time to multiply bread wouldn’t it be a good time now? But when suffering happens because we are too lazy to share what we have and we want God to do it all then don’t ask why there is so much suffering in the world.
God creates more than enough food in this world for us to share. It begins by the love we have for all those around us. It is like a pebble dropped into the ocean and you watch the ripple effect. But if you do not drop your pebble and you wish to keep it for yourself then your part in the making of a new world will not show. Your love that should spread around you will not and starting with those closest to you they will begin to suffer. You must let go and have open arms and heart to the love that God places in your hands. His love is endless for you and others and it is more than all the grains of sand in this world.
I remember Roger once asked the Spirit, “Do you really know everything?” The Lord responded, “My boy you can pick up one grain of sand, drop it into the ocean and shake up the waters for it to be mixed in and I will still know exactly where that one grain of sand is…and as well as all the others.” This is how much the Lord knows everything about us. He said once, “If I know what you will do in the future, imagine how much more I know about your past.” Meaning ‘be honest’. Don’t try and hide anything from the Spirit. He also said, “I take you as you are…to make you better and not to remain as you are.”
Recently a couple of us here watched one of the conferences that Roger did. He said in there that every decision you have to make before making it you are exactly in the middle of God and evil. When you choose to go close to evil you are going backwards and in order to get closer to God you have to move forward again and cover the same distance that you have just made. So you are doing twice the work but ending up at the same place. Then he said that you can never reach God.
We were talking about this after the film had ended and I asked “How come we never reach God?” We were asking the Spirit and the Spirit showed us both something beautiful. Here it is:
Picture yourself in the middle again. But this time you make the right decision and listen to the Spirit. As you are moving forward the Spirit is as well because we have forever to learn. So how can we know everything when we have forever to learn? But as you are moving forward you are getting further from evil but still closer to God. But then we asked how are we ever to be twins with God if we never reach Him? Here is what He showed us:
He showed us that when you go backwards, close to evil, then you make yourself dirty, not clean. But when you choose to do right and listen to the Spirit, you become cleaner and more transparent. People begin to see right through you because you are so honest and clean. Then God shines through you because they no longer see you but the Spirit in you. It is like saying, “Crystal clear!”
“When a light is shined through crystal does it not make rainbows? Become as such. Then you shall truly show your true colors that I am in you. Is glass not made from sand? Only when you choose to become one with I in all others are rainbows made. A rainbow cannot shine through a solid substance. You must become transparent, honest, for the Spirit is not something you see but feel. As I love you love one another for then they too shall feel My love for them in you.
“Do you love Me? Then feed My sheep. But not only with food of this world because it starts with the love in your heart that I am, then shall the multiplying start. But it shall not be the multiplying of bread and fish but the multiplying of love in all hearts that will move them to share of what they have, and then there shall be no more famine of food or love in the world.
“How I love you My children, all of you. Do not ask Me to hate others for they too are My children and I wish for them to know My love for them in you.
“Blessings be unto to your hearts My little sand grits that shall melt into one to become the vessel in which I shall place the food and drink to feed the world.
Yours truly,
